Dallas, TX, July 31, 2022 – Over six million people in the US live with Alzheimer's disease, the leading cause of mortality in the US. Over 11 million families offer care to their loved ones living with Alzheimer’s and other memory loss-related illnesses.
"We join the world in the Alzheimer's Association Walk to End Alzheimer's every year," the Director of The Cottages explained. "Our participation helps raise awareness and money to fund support, care, and research. While we offer care to our residents, we’d like researchers to find a cure for the disease or develop better ways to help those living with Alzheimer’s.”
The deaths from Alzheimer’s keep rising, with one in three people dying from complications of this disease. The Cottages joins the rest of the Americans to provide quality, affordable care to those with Alzheimer’s.
The Walk to End Alzheimer’s is held every year in over 600 communities across the US, including The Cottages. The inspiring event is the largest fundraiser for Alzheimer’s in the world. It calls on people of all abilities and ages to join the rest of the world in fighting against this disease.
This year alone, Alzheimer's will cost the US $321 billion, which is likely to rise to $1 trillion by the year 2050. The noble cause is driven by the urge to ensure the safety and health of people with Alzheimer's.
Together with other communities, states, citizens, and the government, The Cottages will continue to champion for disease awareness, care, support, and research funding to ensure the wellbeing of the affected.
All are urged to join this noble cause to fight Alzheimer's disease. There are plenty of ways to offer support, including free caregiver support, becoming an advocate, fundraising, sharing your story, and more.
