Plano, Texas, June 26, 2023 - The Nicholson Clinic is proud to announce that all three of its surgeons have been certified by the American Board of Surgery (ABS) with the Focused Practice Designation (FPD) in Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (MBS). Out of thousands of bariatric surgeons in the US, only 220 currently have this designation.

The ABS Focused Practice Designation is an important credential that recognizes bariatric surgeons who demonstrate exceptional proficiency in metabolic and bariatric surgery. The designation is awarded to surgeons who have met rigorous criteria, including completing at least 50 metabolic and bariatric surgery cases in the past two years, passing an oral examination, and completing continuing medical education requirements.
