TOUR TIMES -- We are happy to give you a tour of our facility:

Jackie's is dedicated to teaching children. We provide services / education for children from infant through Grade 8. We are not a "babysitting" service, but are primarily interested in motivating young people to learn by nurturing and developing their interest in the activities we offer.

Whether a child comes to Jackie's for an hour's class in karate, dance and swim, or is enrolled in the fulltime preschool, mother's morning out program, or in the private school, we want to give them the best opportunity to reach their fullest potential and to love learning for its own sake and the challenges it offers.

IMPORTANT ALERT! IMPORTANT IMMUNIZATION ALERT!
We have received word from the state licensing inspector (Sylvia Wilson), that the Texas Department of State Health Services has issued an alert concerning an outbreak of Pertussis -- on a National Level.

The most shocking part of this outbreak is that ten percent (10%) -- of ALL PERTUSSIS CASES IN THE NATION ARE IN TRAVIS COUNTY, TEXAS!!
This is one of the diseases that has to be reported to the Health Department. Pertussis can be severe and fatal. Just this year California has had seven (7) infant deaths related to pertussis. There is a child care center in Austin which has had three outbreaks this year -- none of which were reported to licensing, or the health department. What do you (and Jackie's) need to do?

Jackie's teachers who have not yet received the vaccine WILL get it and bring proof of immunization to the school for their records. Parents, grandparents -- all adults who are around their young family members -- or work in schools -- and child care organizations -- NEED TO GET THIS IMMUNIZATON!!

Adults are carriers without being ill. Please help us be preventive -- and proactive concerning this! Please spread the word to anyone who might benefit from this information. Thank you for your assistance and cooperation.
