STVS is pleased to welcome Dr. Sarah Israel to its surgery team.
Dr. Sarah Israel was the Chief Surgical Resident at Texas A&M University Veterinary Teaching Hospital. Originally from Austin, Texas, Sarah completed her veterinary training at Texas A&M University (DVM) and The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine (internship) before starting her surgical residency at Texas A&M University in 2006.
Sarah has strong interest in orthopedics and neurosurgery and has published her research comparing the sensitivity of CT vs. myelography for the diagnosis of disc herniation in dogs. In addition, she has developed strong skills in arthroscopic treatment of conditions of the canine stifle, elbow, and shoulder.
STVS is pleased to add Lucia Alvarez, DVM, Diplomate ACVIM to its internal medicine team.
In 2000, Lucia Alvarez received her bachelor's degree from Princeton University. Lucia went on to complete a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine at Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2006. She completed a Small Animal Medicine and Surgery Intership at Veterinary Specialists of South Florida in 2007 and a Residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine in 2010.
Originally from South America, Dr. Alvarez is a native speaker of both English and Spanish and is available to assist you with your internal medicine and critical care needs.
