We are a congregation that opens wide the doors of the Church so that all may enter. We are old and young. We are God's people, led by the Holy Spirit, seeking to serve Christ in a world that is desperate for mercy and compassion and justice. Above all, we are disciples on the Way, seeking to know and serve our Savior each and every day.
In the year 2006 our congregation celebrated 125 years of ministry. For more than a century God has blessed this congregation with remarkable people who have shared a commitment to live as God's faithful servants. With God's guidance we have been an active and vital presence in the community for more than twelve decades.
Our life together is filled with abundant opportunities for growth. We find strength for the journey in weekly worship when we hear the Word, witness baptisms and gather at the Table. Christian education for all ages provides regular time for Bible study and theological reflection. We serve our community through a Meals on Wheels program and as we participate in Family Promise, a program that assists homeless families. We move out into the world walking with our brothers and sisters in Christ in places as far away as Russia and as close as Galveston.
It is impossible to envision what God might have in store for us in the years to come. We have been given many gifts and it is our constant joy to share Christ’s ministry one with another. We continue to seek God’s vision as we serve Christ together.
We hope that you will join us as we go in peace to love and serve the Lord,
Rev. Dr. Margaret Willis Boles
