At Slavin Nadal School of Ballet we believe that whether it is a younger child just being introduced to the pleasures of classical ballet, a student with aspirations for a professional career, or someone of any age who is looking for fun and a satisfying way to keep fit, it is possible to combine enjoyment with challenge, the everlasting appreciation of an art form and the highest quality training.
Eugene Slavin and Alexandra Nadal are former Principal Dancers of the Ballet Russe de Monte Carlo and the Royal Winnipeg Ballet. Prior to opening the Slavin Nadal School of Ballet in 1989, they were the founding Artistic Directors of Ballet Austin and the Artistic Directors of its predecessor, Austin Civic Ballet.
Their students have studied on full scholarship at American Ballet Theatre, The Joffrey Ballet and Houston Ballet. Former students have also gone on to professional careers as corps de ballet, soloists and principal dancers with ballet companies in the United States and Europe as well as starring on Broadway and Londons West End. Most significant however, are the hundreds of students of all levels and ages whose lives have been enriched by dance and all that it can give the body and spirit.
Interested students and parents are welcome to visit the school and observe classes or, if appropriate, take a complimentary placement class. We also suggest visiting other area ballet schools and comparing programs, faculty etc. before making this important decision for oneself or a child.
This website is intended primarily to provide background information for prospective students who wish to begin or continue their training in classical ballet. Please contact us for additional information and current class schedules.
