Balcones Frame Supply, Inc. was founded by Hank and Jane Ellison in 1982. The company has supplied Austin with the highest quality materials and professional custom picture framing services for over a quarter century. Family owned and operated by local residents, Balcones maintains a close relationship with its customers. Hank was one of the first picture framers in the United States to receive a CPF certification from the Professional Picture Framing Association in 1991. He recently transferred ownership of Balcones to his wife, Jane, in preparation to retire after over 50 years in the framing industry. Jane continues to operate the business, offering intelligent design and know-how of what it takes to get the job done, no matter how complex. She is always happy to work with each client to assure the best product at the most reasonable price.

Although based in Texas, Balcones ships coast to coast and works with customers as far away as India, China and Africa. Balcones is a wholesale picture frame supply company dealing primarily with retail frame shops, museums, galleries, designers and directly with the artists and photographers selling their own work. The general public is also welcome.
Balcones carries in stock over 7,000 moulding profiles in both wood and aluminum frames, and act as local distributors for a growing number of independent moulding companies. BalFraming services provided by Balcones include glass cutting, mat cutting, various methods of mounting artwork, cutting, joining and finishing of wood and metal frames, in addition to custom hand beveled framed mirrors.
All employees at Balcones are trained to handle every aspect of framing including sales, design, layout and assembly. Creative and practical, the Balcones staff can often find multiple solutions to resolve any framing issue. The staff also has a keen understanding of the geometry and chemistry involved in framing, matting and art preservation and conservation and can provide clear answers about related issues.
