The most common problem animal we are called upon to address is the rat. Rats aggressively attack structures to get inside and because they can and do go everywhere they cause considerable damage. Typically, rats colonize one area of the structure, foraging for food at night and nesting in the structure during the daytime. When the colony reaches maturity, two or more groups of individuals will break off to form separate colonies, in another part of the same structure or at an entirely different location.
Other common problem animals are squirrels and raccoons. Attentive homeowners generally know when they have a squirrel problem. This is because squirrels are diurnal, like us. They are seen in the yard, climbing trees, and getting onto roofs. Frequently, the homeowner will see a squirrel disappear into the attic. Homeowners generally complain because squirrels start their day early and give notice by the noises they make in the attic.
The animal that causes the most damage to homes and businesses is the raccoon. Once they make their way into the attic, raccoons can make swiss cheese out of the ductwork and chew through wires. Homeowners sometimes describe the noises made by raccoons as the sound of wrestling dogs. They are heavy sometimes are heard making thumping noises.
Services
Trap and Release or Trap and Relocate
Sometimes the solution is our trap and release or trap and relocate service. We use live traps to capture squirrels, raccoons, skunks, opossums, and other vermin. Oftentimes, assuming the structure has been properly protected from penetration, the animals are set free at the homeowner's property. The rest of the time, we relocate the animals far enough away they won't find their way back.
Raccoons and rats present unique challenges. Our experience and capabilities in dealing with these animals are what separate us from the competition. Many times, Critter Trappers is called in to solve a problem after one or more of our competitors has been on the job and has failed to figure out the solution. The customer is frustrated and they're ready for it all to end. We draw on our experience, our thoroughness, and our dedication and we go to work.
Most of the time, when Critter Trappers is called in, we are called upon to seal the home or business structure so that unwanted critters can't get in. We use quality materials and we pride ourselves in doing a quality job. Over the years, we've have seen where faulty or shoddy work has been done on structures by individuals called in by the property owner to make repairs. We are not that company. Sometimes, it costs more to do it right, but in the end, you get what you pay for.
For example, at one house, we saw where a large hole had been cut in the siding and then the hole was covered with a piece of plywood with screws. The homeowner explained that a few years back one of the pipes leading to the washing machine began to leak and they had to call in a plumber. To repair the leak, the plumber cut the hole in the siding and then patched the hole and collected his fee. In our estimation, the plumber did more damage than good. We say this because to restore the structure to the way it should be and eliminate the "patch job look", the homeowner had to incur the expense of fixing the damage to the structure by the plumber's shoddy work. The homeowner incurred the cost of replacing several pieces of siding when all of that could have been avoided had the work had been done right the first time.
The process begins with a thorough inspection of your buidling. We identify what needs to be done and explain how we plan to protect the structure. You will see in us the kind of devotion that will give you comfort that we can and will solve your problem.
