With offices in Wimberley, Texas (near San Marcos (between Austin and San Antonio), Arrowhead Asset Management (AAM) is a fee-only investment advisory service offering performance-proven, risk-manged retirement plans and individual investment accounts for middle and upper income families, small business owners, and higher education professionals in central Texas.
For most clients, our primary custodians are 1) Nation's largest no-load mutual fund company and discount broker Fidelity Investments for both retirement and brokerage accounts and 2) TIAA-CREF, the no-load, non-profit financial services firm for limited after-tax annuity and term insurance needs.
Unlike most investment advisors and brokerage/insurance salespeople who promote the failed "buy and hold, trust the stock market" asset allocation philosophy of money management, our investment strategy achieves superior investment returns by using an active, risk-managed approach.
Many investment advisors know little about technical analysis and investment money flow, limiting their effectiveness as managers of money. Hence, the passive management investment style of age/risk based "asset allocation" models will perform adequately in a "bull" market, but seriously underperform in "bear" markets.
Moreover, there is a misconception that investment risk is mostly about diversification. In fact, risk is mostly about when to be in the market - or not -- and how much money should be in and out of the market at any given time. The "diversification model" is simply as a ruse by many advisors to get client money into the firm -- and then move on to selling the same passively managed investment package to the next naive investor.
An investor deserves to be treated intelligently. We refuse to lie about investing. We accomplish our on-going superior performance by focusing on real market positive money flow trends into the various asset classes, industry-specific sectors, global geographical regions, high income securities, real estate investment trusts (REITs), stocks, and money market cash when necessary. At the same time, our investment decisions avoid sectors and asset classes that are in negative down trends.
Bottom line: we make every effort to invest in what is going up and avoid investing in what is going down.
Clients of Arrowhead Asset Management (1) receive objective investment advice, (2) avoid paying antiquated, performance-reducing commissions, and (3) retain control of their assets by shunning commission "back-loaded" brokerage products and insurance annuities that are costly, illiquid, and ineffective in today's investment environment.
"From each according to his gullibility, to each according to his greed."
