Welcome to my website.
I am a licensed psychologist and a Certified Group Psychotherapist. I provide psychodynamically-oriented individual, group, couples, and family therapy. I work with adults, adolescents, and children.
Some of the most common reasons for seeking psychotherapy are:
post-partum depression, anxiety, and obsessive-compulsive disorders
emotional aspects of infertility
women’s issues
childhood and adolescent depression, anxiety, problems with school functioning, and problems in relationships with friends, family, and step-family members.
If any of these issues is affecting your quality of life, you can call and arrange a consultation appointment. We will talk about what you are hoping to accomplish in therapy, determine if I am the right person for you, and if so, develop a plan together that addresses your goals.
I graduated from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois, with a master's degree in Counseling in 1977. I worked with adolescents and families in the Chicago area for three years before moving to Austin to pursue a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from The University of Texas. I graduated in 1985 and worked with adults, adolescents and children at Child and Family Service and The Oaks Treatment Center in Austin before beginning my private practice in 1989. In 1996 I began specialized training in the study of Modern Analytic group psychotherapy through the Center for Group Studies in New York City, and earned a certificate in Modern Group Leadership in 2005.
In addition to my clinical work, I supervise and lead training groups for professionals in the study and practice of Modern Analytic group and individual psychotherapy.
