Wise Electric was established in 1938 as a non-profit organization that would extend electricity to rural people in the Wise County Area. The need arose because the local Investor Owned Utility deemed the rural farms and homes of this area unprofitable. From this simple beginning, Wise Electric has grown to serve over 16,500 member-consumers, and now has electric lines in seven counties which includes Wise, Montague, Jack, Clay, Parker, Denton and Cooke.

To provide safe, reliable, competitively priced electric and related services to our member/consumers. Our goal is to enhance the quality of life through our high standard of performance, dedication, and integrity.
