On Saturday, November 6, Sis. Cora Bell Smith peacefully went to be with the Lord. Born on August 28, 1912, she lived a fulfilling and meaningful life for 98 years. Sis. Smith has been a source of strength and support for Apostolic Tabernacle since its beginning. She is also the mother of our first lady, Sis. Sharon Roch.

Known simply as "Mama Smith" to the many generations that she impacted and influenced, Sis. Smith was truly a spiritual and natural mother to countless people. Her dedication to God, the man of God, the house of God, and the people of God has stood as a shining example for decades.

The Apostolic Tabernacle family will be eternally indebted to Mama Smith for her many years of faithfulness and strength. We will be eternally indebted to God for granting her to us in such an exceptional way.

She leaves behind her devoted husband, Leon Smith, two children, Norman and Sharon, and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Service arrangements are as follows:

Visitation: Thursday, November 11, 6-9 pm
Brookside Memorial Park Funeral Home

Funeral Service: Friday, November 12, 11am

After a very long and boring sermon the parishoners filed out of the church saying nothing to the preacher. Towards the end of the line was a thoughtful person who always commented on the sermons."Pastor, today your sermon reminded me of the peace and love of God!"
The pastor was thrilled. "No-one has ever said anything like that about my preaching before. Tell me why."
"Well - it reminded me of the Peace of God because it passed all understanding and the Love of God because it endured forever!"

Phillipians 4:6 AMP Do not fret or have any anxiety about anything, but in every circumstance and in everything, by prayer and petition ([a]definite requests), with thanksgiving, continue to make your wants known to God.

How smart and clever(pun intended) is the devil to cause us to run into brick walls in our lives. He wants to cause irreparable injury to us spiritually, financially, emotionally and physically. Satan tries to stop us from seeing increase and our territories enlarged; but his attacks only drive the heirs of the King into action. We run boldly and confidently to God in prayer!

At the beginning of every year, the Apostolic Tabernacle church family begins a time of consecration with prayer and fasting. This year, we have introduced a unique way to bind together and bear one anothers burdens WITH EXPECTATION. Weve implemented The Prayer Wall! The saints have been invited to PICK A BRICK, on which each would write their specific prayer requests. The OPPORTUNITIES for God to work miracles range from impossible situations; souls being saved; healing; spiritual, financial, and emotional breakthroughs. Everyone is believing God together; the children, the youth and the adults. Testimonies are coming in as God has begun to answer our prayers.

UPDATE: We have already received numerous praise reports and testimonies of the prayers that God have answered. We dedicated two Wednesday night services to hearing and sharing those testimonies with great results. Our good reports are strengthening our body and helping us to overcome.
