At Healthy Home Guy, we're pioneering the highest level of home wellness and energy efficiency by providing technically advanced services.

Our goal is to save you money and make your family healthier. We use green building technology, as demonstrated by modern building codes, to improve the livability of your home. Our services improve your health by reducing the pollutants and dust in the air while saving you money on your energy bills.

Even if your house is new, you may have gaps in your airbox which
pull warm, dirty air from inside your walls, like this one:

In an untreated house, gaps and exposed areas around your ventilation system make your air conditioner and heater work overtime. Attic air leaks into your home on a daily basis. These leaks cause two types of problems for the home owner - they cause health problems by bringing dust and pollutants into the home, and they cost you money.

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency tells us that indoor air is five to ten times more polluted then outside air. If you suffer from allergies or asthma, it can get downright hard to breathe.

During initial construction, homes are left with gaps in the ventilation system, especially between the vents and the sheetrock. These gaps allow air from the attic to flow directly to you and your family. This air flow allows insulation particles, mold, bacteria, and fungus to be inhaled by your family.

Fiberglass insulation is a composite of tiny fiberglass particles and glues. Over time, the glues holding the fiberglass deteriorate, releasing fibers into the air of your home. Our treatment reseals the fiberglass insulation in your air system, trapping the fibers before they infiltrate your living space.

"Keep in mind that the air inside HVAC ducts will be breathed by the occupants. Therefore, a duct's interior should be considered living space. So, a tight structure should also mean tight ductwork to prevent pollutants from outside the ducts (e.g. those found in the attic and crawl space) from entering them and ultimately affecting the occupants. It's also important that the interior surface of the ducts be inert; so, for example, don't use ducts lined with raw fiberglass."

How well is your filter really working if you have a thin film of dust on everything at the end of the week?

"Indoor allergens and irritants can play a significant role in triggering asthma attacks. It is important to recognize potential asthma triggers in the indoor environment and reduce your exposure to those triggers."

"Research has found that a 1-square-inch hole in ductwork has approximately the same impact as a 30-square-inch hole in the outside wall. This is due to the fact there is large pressure in the ducts caused by the fan. Return-side duct leaks suck air from wherever they are connected. When you have a supply-side duct leak it will depressurize the home and replacement air will come in from wherever it can."

In an untreated house, gaps and exposed areas around your ventilation system are making your air conditioner and your heater work overtime. Attic air is leaking into your home on a daily basis. Once these gaps and other problem areas have been sealed, your home air conditioning and heating system will be more efficient.

"The average home has the equivalent of a 2-ft-square hole in the ceiling that allows warm air to leak out through the attic. That hole is actually in the form of many smaller cracks and gaps around lights, plumbing pipe, chimneys, walls and other ceiling penetrations. In dollars and cents, this leakage account for anywhere from one-quarter to one-third of your annual heating bill!"

"Ducts in the average 10-15 year old home leak 15% to 40% of the home's heating and cooling right into the attic. Leaking ducts can also affect air quality in your home. "

The average homeowner, using 1000kWh of electricity a month, spends about $160 a month on electricity. This means you could be losing $40 a month, or $480 a year, to leaky ductwork. Our service could pay for itself in 18-24 months - and that's just in energy savings. How much more is it worth to you to improve the quality of air your family is breathing?
