In an untreated house, gaps and exposed areas around your ventilation system make your air conditioner and heater work overtime. Attic air leaks into your home on a daily basis. These leaks cause two types of problems for the home owner - they cause health problems by bringing dust and pollutants into the home, and they cost you money.

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency tells us that indoor air is five to ten times more polluted then outside air. If you suffer from allergies or asthma, it can get downright hard to breathe.

During initial construction, homes are left with gaps in the ventilation system, especially between the vents and the sheetrock. These gaps allow air from the attic to flow directly to you and your family. This air flow allows insulation particles, mold, bacteria, and fungus to be inhaled by your family.

Fiberglass insulation is a composite of tiny fiberglass particles and glues. Over time, the glues holding the fiberglass deteriorate, releasing fibers into the air of your home. Our treatment reseals the fiberglass insulation in your air system, trapping the fibers before they infiltrate your living space.

"Keep in mind that the air inside HVAC ducts will be breathed by the occupants. Therefore, a duct's interior should be considered living space. So, a tight structure should also mean tight ductwork to prevent pollutants from outside the ducts (e.g. those found in the attic and crawl space) from entering them and ultimately affecting the occupants. It's also important that the interior surface of the ducts be inert; so, for example, don't use ducts lined with raw fiberglass."

"Research has found that a 1-square-inch hole in ductwork has approximately the same impact as a 30-square-inch hole in the outside wall. This is due to the fact there is large pressure in the ducts caused by the fan. Return-side duct leaks suck air from wherever they are connected. When you have a supply-side duct leak it will depressurize the home and replacement air will come in from wherever it can."
