Dear Walnut Creek Members and Friends,
November is the month we focus on Thanksgiving. Christians should be the most thankful people of all! Being thankful is a fundamental Christian attitude that we need to maintain all year long and spread to others. The Bible teaches us to give thanks.
"Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good; his love endures forever."

"Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus." 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
I will begin talking to you this month about a Spiritual Growth Challenge for 2011 including:
Reading through the entire New Testament

Please be in prayer about your participation.
Our personnel committee is actively searching for our next youth minister. We still hope to call a new youth leader by the beginning of December. Please pray for the committee, search process and next leader God has for us.
I hope you will join with the Walnut Creek family as we thank God for His many blessings this month. By His Grace, Pastor Shane

Is it possible that Christmas is next month? It seems that just last week we celebrated July 4th. Thanksgiving is just three weeks away and our first performance of "The First Noel, Born is the King" is three weeks after that. Time is just going by too fast. Rehearsal for the Christmas program continues to go well, with many preparations kicking into high gear. We are looking forward to bringing this program to you on the evening of December 12 and then perform it again at Midway Baptist Church on the evening of December 19. Obviously, there will be no services here on that night, and I hope many of you will come to Midway to watch the program when we do it there. Plan now to bring you lost family members and friends to hear the Christmas story as told in song and drama. Our new ministry, Celebrate Recovery, is up and running with a small group of people meeting on Tuesday evenings at 6:30 in the Youth Building. We are planning our official "launch" for the first Tuesday in January. In the meantime, we are meeting each week and learning how to conduct the meetings. God has brought us several people who are seeking freedom from their hurts, habits, and hang-ups. Each week there is a time of worship followed by a lesson that scripturally follows the 8 principles of recovery and the 12 steps that are part of a normal 12-step program, such as Alcoholics Anonymous. Please be in prayer for this life-changing ministry. Until He Comes! Dave.

Our church has been in this area since 1866. It is an old church with a new vision to reach the lost and unchurched for Jesus Christ.
Our church has a desire to minister to the whole family with programs which will enhance the life of both the young and old.
