The Oak Hurst Golf Course and Peach Tree Golf Course are right next to each other off Highway 69 between Tyler, Texas and Jacksonville, Texas. Both Golf Courses offer novice golfers and experienced golfers different challenges. The Peach Tree Golf Course , which opened in 1984, is an executive length, beginner friendly course favored by seniors, juniors, and those that are new to the game of golf. This shorter, more open links style golf course makes scoring much easier.
The Oak Hurst golf course opened in 1993 and is designed by famed golf course designer, Carlton Gipson. Gipson has designed many great golf courses throughout the country.The Oak Hurst course was featured in the Dallas Morning News article "Diamonds in the Rough", which spotlighted great golf courses around the state of Texas that are not in metropolitan areas. Oak Hurst has also been awarded "Best Public Golf Course" by the readers of B-Scene magazine and "Best Driving Range" by the readers of The Tyler Morning Telegraph.
