We believe that the Gospel impacts every area of a person's life and culture. To this end, we hope to be a community of believers who grow beyond the Sunday gathering, and begin to live out the message of Christ in our everyday lives.
We believe that God intends Christianity to be a way of life which sends us into the world to serve God and our neighbors, so that God's will may be done on earth as it is in heaven. We want to be and to share the Good News of Jesus Christ, witnessing, loving and serving from our doorsteps "to the ends of the earth." (Acts 1:8)
We are Christian by name and by belief. It is a way of life that relates who and what we are to who and what God is, as revealed in Jesus Christ and as experienced through the Holy Spirit. We desire to be a faithful, growing church, that demonstrates true community, deep Christian spirituality and a passion for justice. (Micah 6:8)
We are seeking to be a transformative community that lives as a blessing of God to the world. We are a community of faith made up of people from diverse backgrounds and perspectives, but we find unity and commonality in seeking the things of God in this world, as they are in heaven.
A First Christian Church, you will find opportunities to ask honest questions, share opinions and discover ways to deal with lifes difficult issues and to grow in faith.
The chalice is significant because we celebrate the Lords Supper in worship every Sunday. The chalice with the St. Andrews cross is the symbol of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). First Christian Church is part of this international body of believers.
