PRAYER OF THE MONTH
O dear Lord, God and Father, enter not into judgment against us because no one living is justified before you. Do not count it against us as a sin that we are so unthankful for your ineffable goodness, spiritual and physical, or that we stray into sin many times every day, more often than we can know or recognize. Do not look upon how good or how wicked we have been but only upon the infinite compassion which you have bestowed upon us in Christ, your dear Son.

Update on Linda:
As y'all know Cindy C is helping out at the office in Linda's absence. She is doing a fine job but at the moment does not have access to Linda's collection of email addresses. So she has asked me to send out an update on Linda's condition post surgery yesterday.
She came through the surgery and is doing well but still in ICU. She is expected to be moved to a private room later today or tomorrow but it will be a few days before she will be up to visitors.
Further updates as they become available but keep Linda in your thoughts and prayers. The Lord willing, she will make a full recovery.

Beloved friends in Christ,
I ask your forgiveness for allowing this website to deteriorate into the outdated predicament that it has become. The gentle man you see pictured below is my dearly beloved father who smiled into the face of our Lord as he went to be with with Him on February 10th, just 8 days after his 94th birthday. I spoke to Dad on the 2nd to let him know we were planning our visit and he sounded great, in fact said he was going to have lunch with his wife! That's why his passing was hard for me especially since he lived 2000 miles away. We were especially close spiritually, emotionally and mentally although not geographically. I miss my father an amount words cannot describe. The hole is bottomless but I know our Lord has a prepared wonderful place for Dad and he is at peace now and continues to watch over me and guide me. I know, through God, I can talk to him and the two of them will help me deal with this pain. Daddy gave so much of himself and helped so many people throughout his 94 years but our Lord decided it was Dad's time to come home. He was an amazing man; gentle but strong; God, his family and his Country came first above all else and he always seemed to be able to find an answer to whatever the question was. I have been barely able to function but Daddy would have understood. I am releasing this tribute to The Very Reverend John K O'Neal, Sr., Ret. and others we've lost in the past year including Tina's father, William Foster Wilt, asking you forgive me and pray for all the families who are still suffering the pain of loss.
Thank you and may God Bless you,

Born in Kansas City, MO. Feb 2, 1916, Rev. John K. ONeal, Sr. died at home in Lakewood, WA. at the age of 94 on Feb10, 2010. A veteran of WWII and Korea, he served his country proudly. Having been ordained by the ELCA as a Lutheran Pastor at the age of 76, he served many local congregations as interim pastor. He had a special love for prison ministry, and advocated strongly for a Lutheran congregation behind bars. John is survived by his wife of 38 years, Pastor Margaret, his daughter Kathleen and her husband Brad, son Pastor John O'Neal, Jr. and his wife Deb, daughter Connie and her husband Danny. Grandchildren Bobbi and her husband Kevin, Lindsay, Morgan, Shannon, Nicholas, Stephanie and husband Paul, and Joseph. He is also survived by five great-grandchildren he met and five he didn't. He was a giant of a man who lived and died with grace, peace and love.
This loving obituary was written by his younger daughter, Connie.
