How does chiropractic fit into your wellness plan?
A subluxation is defined as a partial dislocation of a bone or joint. As applied to the spine, a segment or "vertebral body" can be out of place (rotated, laterally fixed or both). As a result, a bone out of place can put pressure on the nerve(s) associated with that vertebral level. Again, we must ask "how does chiropractic fit in to your wellness plan?" Chiropractors can correct subluxations through manual adjustment, therefore taking pressure off the nerve and allowing the body to function as it should.
To be clear, chiropractic wellness care is not just about removing the aches and pains (or numbness, tingling etc) resulting from pressure on a nerve. Wellness care is about improving function and creating a better health environment for the body. As chiropractors, we want to emphasize that the nerves exiting all levels of our spine travel not only to the muscles, but also to nearly every cell in the body.
