If we've got it, it has strings or MOOG made it. Or both. We have the MOOG guitar, now with midi. This is the first real advance in guitar technology since 1949.
We don't carry anything with a spit valve. But if you're looking in Dallas for a violin, bass, cello, banjo, mandolin, guitar, autoharp or anything else with strings on it or music from Barenreiter or G. Henle then this is the place. We are also a dealer of MOOG products and even understand some of them. Why does a string shop carry the world's best analog synth?. We aren't entirely sure but partly because Bob Moog was a cool old guru guy and all MOOG products have at least a little bit of wood in them. And violins are also made of wood ..... Our shop is small but it is crammed full of neat stuff. And unlike certain other fancypants mega corporation-owned stores we'll remember you when you come back. That is usually a good thing.
We are generally open by one pm at the latest. We close sometime between 6pm and midnight. If you plan to come early or late, please call ahead. It is usually not difficult to make an appointment for other times. Only once in ten years have we forgotten about one.
Where are you guys?
We are located in Dallas, TX near Richardson on the NorthWest corner of Coit and Beltline, in the Spring Creek Village shopping center. You'll see a Shell 7-11 station, a demolished building, Black-Eyed Pea, Taco bell, and the Plant Market. We're in the very far back corner of that parking lot, on the courtyard next to Mary Ellen's Tea Room. Our shop is carefully hidden behind a tree.
That tree, along with our stubborn aversion to print advertising, is one reason we are the best-kept secret in Dallas. Look for the green neon fiddle above our door.
If you can't find it, give us a call: (972) 458-2980.
The three story bank building in our parking lot near Coit is now gone. The giant Plant Market greenhouse is also gone, The Plant Market is still there though and they are the people to see if you need garden plants and related whatnot. We haven't moved but things look different.
Remain calm and carry on. Everything is fine. Really. You may as well buy a stack of music books. Be American...Spend Money

The way this is supposed to work is first we buy some stuff. Then you come in and buy it from us at a higher price than we paid. We keep the difference, give half of it to the government and then go out to eat. If nobody buys anything we lose confidence and everybody has to stay at home for dinner, like in Russia.
The YaHoo Map thing sometimes shows our shop somewhere in a trailer park in Plano, about 9 miles from where it really is. GPS and Google map coordinates are 7989 Beltline Road, Dallas. This will NOT work as a mailing address.
If we miss your call please leave your number. Please don't say the number real fast at the end after talking slow, or we might not be able to call back. You can bypass the very professional and pleasant greeting message by pressing the # key, but then you won't know the hours for the day.
Rob does repairs and offers sage advice on all matters from violin care to rain avoidance. In his spare time he seems to be designing an experimental airplane. He often thinks he might be invisible.
Lewis is the tall guy with the pleasant disposition giving lessons all day. Between lessons you may find him in frantic yet, nevertheless, enthusiastic pursuit of the capitalist ideal. He also has an encyclopedic knowledge of our music inventory. Titles from Barenreiter, Mel Bay, Ocean, and Libris Obscura are easily located when he can help.
Lynda does all the rest. She's usually the one who really knows what's going on, so if you get an answer from anyone else about the schedule it might be a good idea to verify it with her. After ten years we put her name on the business cards, please ask her for one.
Ruprect is the other one. He isn't as scary as he seems and is always about to leave if he is here at all, he really doesn't do much but we can't seem to get rid of him except in August during Burning Man.
