We’re excited to share with you our stewardship focus for this year. Beginning October 10th, we will focus each Sunday on different facets of stewardship. We’d like to share with you added aspects to our emphasis.

Too often we think of the church as an organization, or an institution. The church is a community of faith that provides a rich resource of ministries. Every day, 365 days a year, our church is ministering in many ways to members of our church family, our community and our world. With that in mind, you will find on the back of this letter a Budget of Ministries. This Budget of Ministries reflects the number of lives our church has touched and ministered to in the name of Jesus Christ.

We have also enclosed a special church-wide survey on the Stewardship page. We would like to hear from each member of your household on aspects of church life. God had called us all to be a part of this community of faith. We will use the results of this survey to celebrate how we are growing together as disciples of Jesus Christ and discover areas where we can improve in our discipleship journey.

We will have four special Sundays during our Stewardship emphasis, and we hope you will make a special effort to attend each service:

October 10th Celebration Sunday
On this Sunday we will celebrate what God has helped our church accomplish since its founding. We will celebrate the “faith story” of our church.

October 17th Vision Sunday
After celebrating past victories, we will look forward on Vision Sunday to God’s plan for our church as we move forward.

October 24th A Place for You Sunday
We will celebrate the many ways God has used us in various ministries. Come to the Fall Festival from 4:006:00pm for fun, food, fellowship and to learn about the ministry areas of the church and find a place of service.

October 31st Commitment Sunday
Our special stewardship emphasis culminates on Commitment Sunday where we will have the opportunity to make our Discipleship Promise. You will have the opportunity to make a commitment of your time and talents as well as your financial resources.

The Christian life is a journey. As we make this journey we are growing in our understanding of what it means to be a disciple of Christ. As we journey and grow together, our lives and our church will gain new heights of spiritual blessings.

Our prayer is that we will all take a serious look at how we are using the total resources of our lives. And consider how the use of our resources reflects our discipleship commitment. We trust you will join with us to prayerfully seek the Lord’s guidance in our lives as we march forward boldly to fulfill God’s mission for Central Presbyterian Church.
