Southern Spectrographic Laboratory was established in 1956 to serve the needs of its parent organization for metallurgical analysis and quality control. Since then it has grown to serve the increasing requirements of other companies through its specialized equipment and personnel.
Southern Spectrographic Laboratories has been approved for use in conjunction with government contracts and furnishes certification on a commercial basis for foundries and other laboratories..

Toxic characteristic leachate procedure.
This is one of our specialties. Our prices are very competitive. The procedure is used to determine toxicity of products, usually waste products. Normally the so called 8 toxic metals are determined.
The staff at Southern Spectrographic Lab has extensive knowledge and experience in both RCRA and super fund activities.
Chemical analysis by the ICP determines almost any metal or group of metals in any medium at low cost. Additionally, this instrument is excellent for determining trace elements down to less than 1 ppm Or major elements above 10%.

Sample preparation is required for chemical analysis whether it is instrumental or wet chemical.
The Belt Sander and Lathe are used to prepare a smooth metal surface for spectrochemical excitation. The Drill Press obtains drilling samples from metals for chemical analysis.
The Grinder pulverizes ores, rocks, etc., for either wet chemical or spectrographic analysis.
Other sample preparation equipment includes Crushers and Sieves.

Classical wet methods are available for chemical analysis. These methods are used
when samples do not lend themselves to Spectrographic or other instrumental
analysis due to physical form and size.
