Adat Shalom is a congregation of believers, both Jews and Gentiles, who have joined together for the main purpose of reaching out to the Jewish community with the good news of the Jewish Messiah.
Our authority is the Bible, both Old and New Testaments, for all things that pertain to faith and practice. As a body of believers, we are committed to coming together regularly for worship, the learning of God's word, and for mutual fellowship and encouragement. Adat Shalom seeks to be a loving witness to the Jewish community, as well as become a congregation that promotes the growth of faith, hope and love among one another.

Messianic Artist Jonathan Settel will lead us in Worship for our Friday evening Shabbat Service, November 19th, 7:30pm. Jonathan is a man after the heart of God. He ministers extensively worldwide, bringing us back to our Jewish roots through Messianic expressions of worship and teachings. Visit his website at www.settel.org Open to all, invite your friends! The concert is free, though a love offering will be taken to support his ministry. CDs will also be available for purchase.

Each year family and friends gather all over the country to honor that first Thanksgiving years ago with a festive meal and warm times. At Adat Shalom, we also gather to remember, to remember how merciful and gracious the Lord has been to us this past year. As the children of Israel traveled through history, the Lord had them build altars of remembrance so that they would be ever mindful of just Who it was that had brought them thus far...we, as humans tend to forget sometimes that,

"Every good thing given and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shifting shadow." James 1:17

Join us Friday, November 26, 7:30pm as we share in a special abbreviated candlelight service. We will also participate in the sharing of the wine and bread of the New Covenant, which was inagurated by Messiah at that last Passover meal. A New Covenant, completed with the shedding of THE Lamb's blood, once and for all, for the permanent remission of sins.

Chanukka Service, Pot Luck & Latke Cook-Off

Celebrate Chanukka! Friday, December 3, 7:30pm
Chanukka has various names, the Festival of Lights orthe Feast of Dedication, but did you know that the single reference to Hanukkah in the Bible is found in the New Testament?
At that time the Feast of the Dedication took place at Jerusalem; it was winter, and Jesus was walking in the temple in the portico of Solomon. The Jews then gathered around Him, and were saying to Him, "How long will You keep us in suspense? If You are the Messiah, tell us plainly." Jesus answered them, "I told you, and you do not believe; the works that I do in My Father's name, these testify of Me. "But you do not believe because you are not of My sheep. "My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me; and I give eternal life to them, and they will never perish; and no one will snatch them out of My hand. "My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father's hand. "I and the Father are one." The Jews picked up stones again to stone Him. Jesus answered them, "I showed you many good works from the Father; for which of them are you stoning Me?" The Jews answered Him, "For a good work we do not stone You, but for blasphemy; and because You, being a man, make Yourself out to be God." John 10:22-33

We know from this mention of the Feast of Dedication that it was Hanukkah, and during this particular Feast of Lights, Jesus would reveal a couple of things about Himself: His Messiahship and His deity. Its interesting that He would choose Hanukkah as a time to do this. You see, on Hanukkah we rejoice over the defeat of Antiochus Epiphanes, a madman who thought he was a god. But as followers of Yeshua, we believe Him to truly be God. He is the Light of the World, and He chose the Feast of Lights to reveal that.
