The Vineyard at Florence welcomes the art of Kelly Borsheim on November 18, 2010 from 6:00-8:30 p.m.
Kelly Borsheim has worked as a full-time professional artist since January 2001. She is an American sculptor who loves to paint and draw, especially the human form. Michelangelo brought Kelly to Italy in 2004 and it was in the Renaissance City (Florence) that she became a "madonnara" (streetpainter). Here she began her exploration with the medium of pastels. Her current body of 2-dimensional work combines her classical training as a sculptor, as well as drawing in pencil and charcoal at the Angel Academy of Art in Florence, with her streetpainting: using bright colorful pastels with the subtleties one can express with charcoal.

Kelly currently splits her time between her studio in central Texas and in Florence, Italy. Borsheim art works are in private collections throughout the United States and in Australia, Canada, Italy, France, The Netherlands, the United Kingdom, and New Zealand. The Vineyard encompasses approximately 30 acres of grapes, providing area residents and visitors spectacular vistas from home sites and the tasting villa. A combination of red and white varietals, including Norton/Cynthiana, Black Spanish, Cabernet and Blanc du Bois, were planted in the spring of 2007.

Two Vineyards, One Stop
We offer the convenience of two incredible tasting rooms at one stop. Visit Villa Firenze, the large Tuscan building on your left when you arrive and Inwood Estates Winery in our Italian Barn on the right.
Our Winemaker, Dan Gatlin, grew up in Dallas in a family that operated 25 beverage stores. As a professional wine buyer in the 1970s and 1980s, he was in a unique position to witness and participate in the coming of age of the California wine industry. Additionally, his position also allowed him access to the greatest wineries in France, often spending invaluable personal time with the most famous winemakers in the world.
In 1981, Mr. Gatlin became one of the first people to plant a commercial vineyard in Texas. It would take 5 vineyards and 30 grape varieties over 25 years before he would release his first wine. Today Inwood Estates' wines are recognized as possibly America's finest Tempranillo wines and are served in 200 of the very finest restaurants in Texas.
In 2009, Mr. Gatlin also assumed the winemaking role for The Vineyard at Florence and the first 5 wines were made exceeding all quality expectations, thereby paving the way for the future of one of Texas' top brands.
