Known for its link with the old Texas frontier, Albany maintains efforts in conservation, restoration, and development of unique ways to shareits rich history. The Gazebo, located on the lawn of the 1883 Shackelford County Courthouse, is the setting for many outdoor weddings. The Texas Forts Trail passes through Albany leading to Fort Griffin State Park, the site of bi-annual 1869 re-enactments.
