Dr. Michael M. Heckman M.D. has been practicing Orthopaedic Surgery and Sports Medicine in South Texas since 1989. Dr. Heckman is Board Certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. He has completed specialty fellowship training in orthopaedic sports medicine, arthroscopic surgery and reconstructive shoulder surgery. He specializes in arthroscopy and treating injuries of the knee and shoulder. He is a Clinical Assistant Professor in Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio and has been selected by his physician peers as being one of the "Best Doctors in America" for the last 10 years and one of the "Best Doctors in San Antonio". He treats athletic, non-athletic, and work related injuries in patients of all ages.
