Reach is our word for evangelism.
The church exists to communicate God's word. It is every Christian's responsibility to share the good news wherever we go. Evangelism is more than our responsibility, it is our great privilege. We are ambassadors for Christ, and our mission is to evangelize the world. We have the privilege to be a part of bringing people into God's eternal family.
Equip is our word for discipleship.
Colossians 1:28 says, " Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus." As the church we are called not only to reach people, but also to teach people. After someone has made the decision to live for God, then that person must be discipled in order to grow and become a mature Christian. That is God's will for every believer, as Paul declares, " … so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature …"
Adore is our word for worship.
The church exists to worship God. When we express our love for God we are worshipping. The Word of God declares, "Worship the Lord your God, and serve Him only …" Worship is the church's first purpose. We must never get too busy working for the Lord that we fail to worship the Lord. God is seeking for such to worship Him.
Care is our word for ministry.
Ministry is simply meeting needs with love. The church exists to minister to people. Each time we reach out with the love of God to meet someone's needs we minister to that person. The church is called to minister to all kinds of needs, be it spiritual, emotional, relational, or physical. It is our privilege as the church to minister to the world the unconditional love of Christ.
Hope is our word for fellowship.
Fellowship is where we are able to identify with he body of Christ. As Christians we are called to belong, not just believe. No man is an island unto himself, we are to belong to Christ's family and be members of His body. When we come to God we are born into His family, we declare to the world that we are not it's anymore. Fellowship enables us to make the transition from the old to the new.
