The Children’s Center, Inc., (TCCI) is a private, not-for-profit organization location in Galveston, Texas. TCCI was formed through the merger of four child welfare agencies serving Galveston County since 1878. The organization specializes in bringing positive change to lives of children and their families, helping to redefine the family structure.

As a valuable resource for the vulnerable children and families within our community, The Children’s Center, Inc. of Galveston County provides consistent quality services to these voices with hope—the hope to heal, the hope to grow, and the hope to thrive.

Families and children in our community go without proper food, shelter, essential medical care and basic every day necessities due to a variety of factors including job loss, illness, domestic violence and human trafficking. With both domestic and international human trafficking on the rise, children and youth are the most vulerable. With 10 distinct programs operating within TCCI, we provide assistance to at-risk, high-risk and special needs children and their families through prevention and early intervention, emergency shelter, residential care and services.

It is the mission of the Children’s Center to develop a comprehensive system of services which support family preservation, thereby strengthening the role of the family as the primary caretaker.
