"...I have developed my skills carefully so that I can help people, even in the first session."
When people come for counseling, they usually want help with their problems as quickly as possible. They also want someone who will listen to them carefully, and who will respond compassionately to their concerns. Over 17 years of being a counselor, I have developed my skills carefully so that I can help people, even in the first session. I try to help each person find hope in their lives that the problem can improve.
I received a Ph.D. in Marriage and Family Therapy from Texas Tech University in 1987. Currently I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, TXLMFT # 2095. In addition, I am a licensed Professional Counselor, TXLPC # 14621.
My office is located in my home, which is at 2421 27th St. in Lubbock, TX. This is half a block east of University Ave, which is centrally located. It is about halfway between 19th St. and 34th St. Many people comment that they prefer a home office for the privacy and comfortable setting it provides.
There is a play therapy center in part of my office. Children often work through their inner conflicts through play. There is also a sandtray and small plastic dolls and objects. These provide additional avenues for children to use to heal.
