Owners/operators John and Susan Carroll invite you to vacation at Valentine Lakeside Resort on the waterfront at beautiful Lake LBJ. In the heart of the Texas Hill Country, this is the perfect place for a quiet, relaxing getaway. The serenity and beauty of the Llano River and constant level Lake LBJ will bring you back time and time again.

It is difficult to imagine that you are only about 60 miles from the hustle and bustle of Austin and 90 miles North of San Antonio. Dallas, Fort Worth and Houston are three and a half to four hours away and from the Panhandle area you can be here in around five hours. So come on – relax and renew your love for life for a weekend, or a week, at Valentine Lakeside Resort. Whether you are looking for a quiet place to relax, a place to do a little sight seeing, or want to do some fishing, boating and water sports on the lake, you will love the Kingsland area of Lake LBJ.
We have everything you need to make your vacation fun. There are 16 units to choose from including: Cabins, The Cottage, The Lakeside Suites, The Patio Unit, The Lakeview Unit and The Poolside House. All units are non-smoking and all linens, except for pool towels, are provided. Choose accommodations for 1 to 14 people. Enjoy our lakefront location, swimming pool and hot tub, lighted fishing house, boat docks, boat launch and beautiful park-like grounds.

Our duplex Cabins have covered porches with views of the lake. Some are close to the lake and others are near the pool and hot tub. Each Cabin has a BBQ grill for preparing the “Catch of the Day” and a picnic table for dining or just relaxing in the shade of our many mature trees.

Each Cabin has cable TV, air conditioning and heat. The kitchenette has a stove, refrigerator, coffee maker and toaster along with pots, pans, dinner ware and utensils. Our Cabins can sleep from one to four guests with either two double beds or one queen bed and a double futon.

The Cottage, with its private, covered deck looking out at the lake, is one of our most popular units. The separate bedroom has two double beds and the multi-purpose room can sleep two more on the double futon. The deck houses a BBQ grill and a patio table and chairs for a wonderful lake view while dining or relaxing.

The multi-purpose room includes a dining table with seating for six and a fully equipped kitchen area, complete with microwave.

Each of the four suites in this two story fourplex has one bedroom with two queen beds and a generous multi-purpose room with spectacular views of Lake LBJ. The multi-purpose room sleeps four more guests on futons and sleeper sofas and has a well equipped kitchen area, complete with microwave.
Your picnic table and BBQ grill are just outside the door. Enjoy your evenings on the covered porch of the downstairs suites or balcony on the upstairs suites. These units are quite comfortable for a couple or a family of up to eight.

For those who need even more room, you can enjoy one of our spacious two bedroom mobile homes. The tree-shaded patios have a BBQ grill and picnic table and the large covered porches have a glider and ample chairs for relaxing and viewing the lake.

The two bedroom, one bath Patio Unit accommodates eight guests. One bedroom contains a queen bed, one has two doubles and the living room has a sleeper sofa. The Lakeview Unit, with a bath and a half, can handle up to ten people with two double beds in each bedroom and a sleeper sofa in the living room. Both units have fully equipped kitchens, complete with microwave.

Need serious space? The Poolside House is a three bedroom, two bath double wide (sleeping up to 14 guests) with a multi-purpose room perfect for reunions or business retreats.
The master bedroom has two queen beds and its own full bath. The second bedroom has two double beds and the third has three doubles; they share a hall bathroom. The fully equipped kitchen area includes a microwave and a dishwasher. The washer and dryer make it ideal for longer stays.

Valentine Lakeside Resort has been hosting family reunions for over 40 years. Some of our current families have been meeting here for twenty years or more. There’s a reason they keep coming back – friendly service and outstanding facilities.
If you’re thinking about beginning a family tradition, just remember – summer isn’t the only good time of year. Try fall for cooler weather, spring for the wildflowers or winter for Thanksgiving, Christmas or New Years gatherings. We’ll be happy to help you with suggestions to make the most of your event.

Whether your ideal activities are water sports, fishing or relaxing and watching the boats go by, we have a spot for you.

Our guest docks are among the nicest on the lake! Our docks are covered and most of them have lifts to raise your boat out of the water to protect it from waves and to keep that hull clean. No more scum line after a fun vacation on the water.
We can handle boats up to 24 on our lifts. Bigger boats can use the slips without lifts. We also have Jet-Ski ramps for your PWCs. All slips are lighted and have GFCI-protected outlets so you can charge up your battery. You can launch from our concrete ramp and we have ample parking for your trailer.
PWC ramps rent for $8 per day. Slips without a lift rent for $10 per day. Slips for boats up to 20 with a lift rent for $14 per day. Slips for boats 20 to 24 with a lift rent for $16 per day.

No matter what the weather or time of day, you can fish in comfort in our recently renovated, enclosed, lighted fishing house. A covered, outside deck allows guests to enjoy the breeze and serene view while bringing in crappie, bass or catfish – some of our most popular fish. April and October seem to be the best months for crappie, although they are caught year ‘round.

Children and adults alike enjoy building fires in the wood burning stove – we supply the wood. Lots of kids have caught their first fish here. We make it easy by selling bait and small tackle. And don’t forget your camera!

Each spring our landscape and roadsides are blanketed with wildflowers – sometimes well into the month of June.

Since some of the prettiest areas in the state are near Lake LBJ it’s no wonder that so many people stay with us while attending the Annual Bluebonnet Festival and enjoy the Wildflower Trail; and don’t forget the Crawfish Open, Art & Wine Trail and Spring Arts & Crafts Shows.

With vacations, holiday weekends and the kids out of school, summer is the most active time at the lake. No other resort in the Highland Lakes can boast of having a heart shaped pool as well as a hot tub. The pool area is enclosed by a vine covered fence for a bit of privacy.
Kingsland has a great Fourth of July celebration with its "Aqua Boom" activities, including street and boat parades, a poker run and an Arts and Crafts Fair. Our waterfront provides great viewing of the spectacular fireworks display.

Fall and winter are among the best kept secrets about the Texas Hill Country. The weather is warm – not hot- and the nights are cool. This is a great time of year to climb Enchanted Rock, the country’s second largest monolith.
The Hill Country is home to many varieties of birds, and even more visit as they fly to and from their winter homes. But some of the most famous birds – American Eagles – make their home right here. Visitors come from all parts of the world to see the three adult eagles tending their young in a nest just off State Highway 29.
Valentine Lakeside Resort is a great place to unwind and share stories after a day of deer or turkey hunting. "Fish Tales" are not the only ones told here!

It’s also a great time to gaze at the stars, roast marshmallows and make S’mores around our fire pit.

Thanksgiving is a wonderful time to gather here with your family. Pick up pecans as they fall from our stately trees and treat your family to a fresh baked pie!

The Hill Country really lights up during the Christmas Season – and Valentine Lakeside Resort is one of the best places to stay while you see it all. The Walkway of Lights in Marble Falls is a treat for all ages. In Burnet, Main Street Bethlehem brings alive the story of the Nativity and Christmas at Fort Croghan takes you back to life on the Texas frontier.

If golf is your thing, then you can enjoy the various courses that are within a half hour’s drive from the resort; and because of the mild climate you can golf here year-round!

Even if you’re not a Winter Texan, meeting these friendly folks from up
north is a lot of fun, with our monthly fish fries and other social activities.

Mild winters and the various recreational opportunities that abound in the Highland Lakes area make us a popular destination for Winter Texans – they even come from Canada! Make your reservations now, while we still have space available.
