This is a clean, recently renovated (2007-2008), colorful little drive-in motel. It is situated just off the busy highway I-35, but far enough away that the roar of cars is kept to a minimum, thanks to its grove of giant live oak trees. A small shady greenway sits in front of the modest property, setting a pleasant tone. A large golden lion bares its fangs in the courtyard between two lush trees wrapped in Christmas lights and an ornate, miniature lighthouse. Wrought-iron stakes, painted to match the doors, outline the large pool. This motel has character and style, and it is resonably priced. Truckers get their own parking lot out back. Guests can sit on the porch swing outside the motel lobby and gaze at the birdhouses hanging in the trees. This one-story brick building houses twenty guest rooms, each with cable TV includes HBO,Cinemax, ESPN, refigerator and microwave oven. Accommodations are basic but offer all the necessities. Exterior corridors are lined with artificial turf, but a porch light outside each door gives the motel a homey feeling. Truck parking and weekly rates are also available.
