A Medina Lake waterfront property owner and resident for over 20 years, I am proud to call Lakehills my home. I first fell in love with Medina Lake's crystal clear waters and rugged Texas Hill Country terrain as a Mariner Girl Scout learning to sail at Bob's Cove. After attending Alamo Heights High School I earned a BS in Journalism/Advertising from WVU and a Masters in Communication from UNC. I enjoyed careers in Television Broadcast as well as corporate executive positions in Advertising and Marketing with Fox Photo and USAA before opening my own business, Karen Ripley Marketing and Advertising, a full-service advertising agency with emphasis in Real Estate and Finance for over 15 years. Through that close association with housing I began my Real Estate career in San Antonio specializing in custom home and land sales. I served as committee chair of the REALTOR/Builder Committee winning awards from the Greater San Antonio Builder's Association and the Texas Association of REALTORS for a new home construction series I helped create. I also co-founded the San Antonio Sustainable Building Coalition, an organization which provides information on "green" construction of healthy, energy efficient homes that limit waste and pollution. I earned my Texas Real Estate Broker's License in 1992 and opened Karen Ripley Real Estate as a full service Real Estate Brokerage serving the needs of my neighbors at Medina Lake. I am active in local issues and participated in the successful Bandera County Tax Roll Back as well as serving on the committee for Lakehills Incorporation. I am currently serving a four year term as Director for Precinct Two of the Bandera River Authority and Ground Water District. My passion is still being on the water. My home is on beautiful Medina Lake overlooking the island and I continue my adventures as an avid blue water sailor having sailed half way around the world from Galveston to Australia on a 42' Carter One Ton sail boat.
