The Child Development Council of Brazoria County is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization and is the sponsoring agency for the Brazoria County Head Start/Early Head Start Programs. The CDC has sponsored the Head Start program since 1975.
Brazoria County Head Start operates seven centers in seven cities throughout Brazoria County. All seven of the centers are accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children.
Evelyn Wright Moore serves as the President/Chief Executive Officer for the Child Development Council. She oversees a multi-million dollar budget and over 90 staff members. Ms Moore has been in the early care field for more than 30 years. Ms. Moore is a member of the Texas Association for the Education of Young Children and also a member of the National Association for the Education of Young Children.
The Child Development Council of Brazoria County exists to provide early childhood development services, health services, and family and community partnerships in order to bring about a greater degree of social competence in preschool children from low-income families.
