And even though we’re not on the square, you’ll be glad you stopped in. Hickory Hollow has been serving exceptional Texas comfort food with Texas hospitality since 1977.
We’re best known for Texas-style barbecue and chicken fried steak and have won highest honors for these and other good things, too. The Houston Press says it’s the Best Chicken Fried Steak in Houston. The Houston Business Journal Gourmet Choice agrees. Oprah Magazine says it’s the Best Value. “Just look at the size of those chicken fried steaks!” AOL City Guide says we’ve got the best BBQ. The menu is so long, you might find it takes a while to get through all the choices. Lean beef brisket, polish sausage, pork spare ribs, and chicken, all slowly smoked in the tradition of Texas barbeque. We grill T-bones and USDA Choice rib eye steaks that are hand-cut on our premises. There are slabs of this and platters of that. You’ll enjoy grilled and fried chicken breasts and catfish, Tex-Mex burritos, and burgers. We have huge baked potatoes, a salad bar and a list of vegetables and side orders so long that we can satisfy your vegetarian friends.
Our comfortable, rustic restaurants are perfect settings for enjoying family and friends while listening to a mix of tunes including western, country, acoustic blues, and bluegrass. On weekend nights, we have live music at the Heights location and there’s never a cover! Whether you’re wearing a suit and tie or jeans, work boots, cowboy boots, high heels, tennis shoes or flipflops – join the families, work friends, and neighbors who gather every day of the week. And everything we make is available for takeout.
Private dining roomsand semi-private spaces are available for you to host friends and associates for those special occasions.
We also offer a variety of services for off-premise dining for 10 or more hungry folks. You can get everything from box lunches or self-serve buffets to full-service catering. We can arrange delivery for a reasonable fee for meals as simple as baked potatoes and salad, BBQ sandwiches, or the full Texas Experience – a spread of 5 meats and everything you’ll need to go with it.
