Welcome to the website of Jami Adams, M.D., F.A.A.P. Dr. Adams opened her pediatric practice on October 4, 2004. We look forward to providing outstanding pediatric services to the children of Abilene and the surrounding communities.
In order to meet patient needs, Adams Pediatrics has adopted a policy of "Advanced Access" to scheduling. This means that services will be provided the same day or the next day of your request, regardless of the nature of the complaint or need. Call (325) 695-1600 for a same-day or next-day appointments, or e-mail us at well_child@adamspediatrics.com for non-urgent, well-child appointments and sports physicals.
In addition, we are very excited to announce the adoption of a new software system to our clinic. This system will have many benefits to both our staff and patients. The goal of this new system is to elevate the standard of care to optimal levels.
You will notice the use of the software in the following ways:
The staff will be entering all of your child's demographic (date of birth, name, etc.) and insurance information into a computer system. We'll even take a digital picture of your child for the chart.
Additionally your child's vital signs (height, weight, temperature, etc.) and symptoms will be entered by our nurse. Dr. Adams will be completing your child's progress note on the computer.
You may receive a copy of your child's progress note and health summary upon request. These should include your child's complete medical history. This will allow you to have copies of this information and alert us to any changes that need to be made.
Your prescription will either be faxed from the office or printed from the computer. Printed prescriptions will be on full sheets of paper. This may seem a bit strange, but you will love being able to actually read your prescription (and so will the pharmacy!).
You may be given Patient Education handouts. These will be given, when appropriate, with infomration about a specific symptom or disease. You should find this very useful.
We hope to make our clinic paperless so we are more efficient. This will allow you to be part of a new wave in healthcare. Be aware that none of your information will be in any way accessible from the Internet or at our clinic by unauthorized individuals. This system is very secure and we would never do anything that your put your child's medical record at risk!
Our mission is to bring the highest quality of compassionate healthcare to our patients in an environment of open communication and trust.
