Welcome to Yarnivore! We're finally in our new home at 2357 NW Military Hwy, between Johnnie Chuoke's Home and Hardware and the old Wah Kee Restaurant. Same shopping center, same great Yarnivore, just in a new storefront. Come see!
Yarnivore is a yarn and fiber shop on the Northwest side of San Antonio, TX. We have a wide selection of yarns and fiber, including hot weather yarns like bamboo, soy, and cotton blends. We also offer a variety of books, patterns, tools and classes to help spark your creativity. Our employees are well-versed in knitting, crochet, and spinning and are available to answer your questions and help you through your projects. Our couches are available for you to sit-n-knit, crochet, or spin! We even have magazines for bored significant others and a few toys for the kids!
We pride ourselves on the service we provide before, during, and even after the sale. Let us spark your imagination, expand your stitching palette and feed your need for yarn and fiber.
I am TOTALLY ready for summer in this snazzy new tank! I love the cable design in the front and the sexy low back. This pattern is a Melanie exclusive... hopefully she'll actually buckle down and write the pattern! The yarn she used was Links by Fibra Natura, a 100% organic cotton that is a knit tube rather than plied. The knit tube structure helps the garment keep it's shape and really makes these cables pop! All that's left is for her to write the pattern... no really, write the pattern!
I love this latest design, it's the Ether Wrap from Rowan Magazine #43 and it's made out of Bonnie's Bamboo, a 100% bamboo DK weight that is hand dyed in Melanie's home state of Connecticut! It's super soft and silky, not to mention the beautiful color, and I love the picot edge details and leafy ties!
Who is Mary?
Remember Sheila? She was our sassy store mannequin. We had an out-of-town customer come in, specifically looking for Sheila, since they shared a name. Well, Sheila (mannequin) was totally devoted to Melanie, and moved East with her. We told the (human) Sheila that we were looking for (mannequin) Sheila's younger sister. Sheila (human) told us that her younger sister's name was Mary. So, there you go. Hopefully, our Mary won't be quite as smart-alecky as her big sister, but we seriously doubt it.
