Most homes are under-insulated and, as such, lose 35% of their energy through the attic. The Department of Energy recommends an R-38 to R-49 as the optimum insulation R-Value range for maximum energy efficiency. "Go Green" by having our highly trained installers blow environmentally friendly heavy-duty cellulose insulation into your attic. We use a superior product made of 80-85% recycled newsprint manufactured by Applegate Insulation. For our customers that prefer foam insulation, we use a product called SWD Urethane. SWD foam insulation is environmentally friendly, is proven to reduce energy use, is zero ozone depleting, formaldehyde/VOC free, and promotes sustainable design. Another insulation option that we provide is Insulsafe SP, a fiberglass product which is manufactured by Certainteed.
Radiant barriers are essential for Texas attics because they maximize the efficiency of your attic insulation by providing a barrier from the radiant heat projected by the sun. We offer several radiant barrier options to our customers including very effective spray-on products called HeatBLOC-75 and HeatBLOC-Ultra, which are manufactured by STS Coatings, Inc. HeatBLOC-75 reflects 75% of the radiant heat trying to enter your home, and will normally save 8-12% on your air conditioning costs. HeatBLOC-Ultra is the latest spray-on radiant barrier from STS Coatings, Inc., and it has the lowest e-factor of all spray-on radiant barriers at .19. HeatBLOC-Ultra blocks 81% of the radiant heat trying to enter your home. We also offer an excellent foil radiant barrier product called Super R Plus which is manufactured by Innovative Insulation, Inc. Super R Plus reflects up to 97% of all radiant heat.
