Weddings have been a specialty of Bunn Flowers & Gifts for three generations. We can set up a free consultation to handle your individual wedding needs. We offer wedding rentals, tuxedo rental, custom printed invitations, photography, and decorating services.

Wedding flowers are an important part of the wedding decorations and can create a nice silver lining. All flowers at the wedding; the ceremony, reception and so on are usually designed to match the flowers the bride picked for her wedding bouquet.
Choosing wedding flowers
When choosing your flowers, bring in a picture of flowers you like. Depending on what those flowers are Bunn Flowers and Gifts may make different recommendations as to what other flowers you can gracefully combine it with. Bunns may also be able to give you an idea of how many flowers you can combine together without it getting too busy and the flowers taking over rather than being a nice complement. The same goes with colors. You may be able to see some live examples of flowers (depending on season etc) to get a good idea of how it will work for you. The most traditional wedding flower is probably still roses. But lots of other flowers are being used and make great wedding bouquets. If you don't really want flowers as anything other than a small decoration you can always go with a smaller flower in a subtle color.
Wedding flower seasons
It is good to talk to Bunn Flowers and Gifts before you get too fixed on a particular flower to use as a primary flower for your wedding as flowers come and go in season. Some are not available during different seasons or can be quite expensive. If you really wanted a particular flower though but know it is not available, let Bunn Flowers and Gifts know. Bunn may not be able to obtain them (or the cost might be quite high) but what they can do is to give you other alternatives of similar flowers that can also give you the look and style that you are looking for.
Wedding flowers for wedding party
Flowers are not only used by the bride at the wedding. Flowers can be just a small, natural and beautiful accent at your wedding or it can play a larger role in setting the feel and look. So as far as flowers go, once it has been decided what flowers to use for the bride there are more flower decisions to make. You will need to decide whether or not the groom is to wear a flower, Bunn Flower and Gifts can make a small arrangement, for him to wear on his jacket. So now the groom and the bride are taken care of, lets decide on the wedding party. Your bridesmaids bouquets can either be smaller bouquets of the same flower(s) as the bride's or maybe just one kind of flower is chosen for the bridesmaid's bouquet, it depends on the flowers and the contrast or similarity you want to create. Some also choose to make smaller arrangements such as a corsage or pin with flowers for the mothers of the groom and the bride and perhaps also the grandmothers.
Pick-up and timing
Make sure that you talk to Bunn Flowers and Gifts a couple of weeks before the wedding to confirm the timing of pick up etc. If you are not available to pick up the flowers yourself make sure to give that responsibility to someone else in good time before the wedding. If a friend is picking up all the flowers make sure they know were to deliver them. If you have flowers for anyone else than yourself you will also need to delegate the responsibility of getting the flowers to the rest of the wedding party etc, just something to keep in mind.
After the wedding
Some flowers will dry up well too. Ask Bunn Flower and Gifts how to best take care of your flowers if you want to dry them. Bunn will be more than happy to receive a wedding photo of you with your flowers so we can see how the end result looked. Also it is great for us to be able to use that as a reference in our portfolio for other clients. So if you liked Bunn Flowers and Gifts, please drop us a photo in the mail after the wedding.
Now That You've Said Yes, What's Next?
One of the most magical memories you recall in your lifetime is your wedding proposal. At the moment you say yes, you are filled with excitement and joy at the thought of spending your life together. Then, you begin to dream of your wedding day and see yourself walking down the aisle looking radiant, of course. Suddenly, your happy thoughts turn to sheer terror as you start to panic! Where do I start? Will I have enough time and money? Can I get the location and dress I want? These are all the questions that begin to flood your mind.
Don't worry! The experts at Bunn Flowers and Gifts and Bunn Tuxedo and Formal Wear have been serving brides and grooms for over 50 years and have learned a thing or two along the way. Here are their Top 10 tips that will get you started in your wedding planning process.
Top 10 Tips that Will Get You on Your Way to Gettin' Hitched
1. Set a Date! First, sit down with your fiancé and look at your work calendars and vacation schedules to see the best date for both of you. Before finalizing the date, review a calendar to see if you can take advantage of a national holiday that would afford your traveling guests a long weekend. If you are having an outdoor wedding or destination wedding, keep in mind the seasons. You don't want to get stuck in bad weather!
2. Location, location, location! Begin looking at locations immediately, as they book far in advance. Ask the venue if your wedding date is available and get their rates to review. If your heart is set on holding your wedding at a particular venue and your date is not available, you need to be flexible and adjust your date.
3. Set a Budget! The cost of the location is one of your biggest expenses and now that you have begun looking at them, you have an idea of the cost. You are now ready to set a budget. You need to see how much you and your fiancé will both be contributing to the budget, and how much your parents may be able to contribute as well.
Today, most brides and grooms split the cost 50/50 for their weddings because on average, they are 26-28 years old and have started establishing their careers. Most parents today don't foot the wedding bill. They only contribute.
4. Hire an Expert! Now that you have a budget in mind, it's time to call in the expert! Yes, Bunn highly recommends that you hire a wedding planner/coordinator, even if it is just for a simple consultation. Wedding planners and coordinators work closely with vendors on a daily basis, so they know whom to use, and they can get you the best prices!
Wedding planners were once thought of as a luxury item. Today, they are viewed as a necessity. What they save you on your contracts alone will cover their fees. Plus, planning a wedding is a lot of work, so they really earn their fees and keep you sane!
Get recommendations from friends and family, as well as wedding vendors. Then check their references. Hire the wedding planner and you'll thank Bunn’s later!
5. Purchase Your Wedding Gown. The wedding gown is the most important aspect of the wedding because it sets the tone. As you look at wedding dresses, keep in mind that if you wish to special order one, you'll need to purchase it 6-7 months in advance, so that the store can ensure it arrives on time for your bridal portraits and wedding. You can always buy one off the rack, but you still need to give yourself time for alterations.
If you are dieting, you don't want to order or purchase your gown too far in advance because if you lose a large amount of weight, the alteration fees may cost more than the dress.
Be sure to take your wedding planner along with you as you shop for dresses. Again, they can help save you money.
6. Decide the Style and Theme. Now that you wedding gown is purchased, you can sit down with your wedding planner and decide on the style and theme of your wedding. You'll want to decide carefully if your wedding is going to be informal, semi-formal or formal. Be sure that your style and theme reflect both you and your groom!
7. Book Your Officiant. Pastors, priests, justices of the peace and other ordained wedding officiants get extremely busy with weddings and other obligations, so book them early so that you can get on their schedule. Plus, many require that you take a wedding preparation class from them before the wedding.
8. Book Your Vendors. Now that you have your date, your budget and your wedding planner, it's time to start booking your vendors. You'll need to book your location first if you haven't already, as that is the most important vendor. The location sites also have rules on outside vendors, so you'll need to know them before booking anyone else. At this point, let your wedding consultant book your appointments and negotiate fees.
9. Select and Order Your Invitations. Once your location and date are set in stone, it's time to order your invitations. At Bunn Formal Wear, they offer up to 20% off invitations when customers book their wedding tuxedos with them. This is a deep discount and you can use the savings to purchase something special, such as a chocolate fountain or an extra day on your honeymoon! Bunn also recommends that you order your invitations at least 3 months in advance so that you have plenty of time to get them addressed and mailed 1 month prior to the wedding.
10. Select Your Tuxedos. It is important that you order your tuxedos at least 3 months in advance, especially if you have out-of-town attendants. This will give your groomsmen, ushers and fathers of the bride and groom time to get measured and fitted. Get with your wedding planner and decide on a date that works for all of you to visit the store – the groom included. Keep in mind the style of the wedding gown, the colors of the wedding, and the fact that grooms are more fashion savvy, so they like to stand out like the bride. They don't want to blend in as in the past. Select a tuxedo that is reflective of both the groom and the tone of the wedding.
Also, the bridesmaids' dress color can be used as the accent color in the groomsmen accessories. This will help tie in the wedding colors and make the pictures vibrant.
Here is another valuable tip. If the wedding gown is white, the tuxedo shirts all need to be white. If the wedding gown is ivory, the tuxedo shirts need to be ivory. In your wedding pictures, you don't want your wedding gown to look dingy next to the tuxedos or vice versa.
Bunn Tuxedo and Formal Wear offers the groom's tuxedo free with a party of six groomsmen, so be sure to take advantage of their money saving offers. It will help stretch your budget!

Dr. Phil Gives Sound Advice to Brides and Grooms
Dr. Phil takes on many subjects on his show on NBC each afternoon, everything from unruly kids to cheating spouses. And on Monday, March 19th, he took on brides and grooms that had the ultimate wedding disasters in his segment "Weddings Gone Bad."
At the first couple's wedding, the groom got drunk and couldn't even say his vows properly and then started a fist fight with family.
The second couple's guests had to wait over 3 hours to be served dinner and their wedding cake melted at the reception. Just when they thought it couldn't get any worse, it did. As they were leaving the reception on a motorcycle that they thought would be really cool to exit on, they had a wreck. The bride wanted her train and veil to cascade down the back of the motorcycle. It did cascade, right into the back wheel, which brought the motorcycle to a sudden halt and caused them to wreck. The bride was burned and the groom was thrown from the motorcycle.
The last couple's big day was ruined by rain, a late minister and a broken down limo bus. First, the minister was over an hour late because he got lost. Also, during the ceremony, he was translating in two languages and he announced them husband and husband. Next, as the guests were being transported to the reception, the limo bus broke down, began smoking and the guests had to exit out of an emergency hatch. Then, they had to stand on the roadside in pouring rain in their formal attire to wait for other transportation to arrive. They did finally make it to the reception several hours later, where the bride and groom had been anxiously waiting on them in order to make their grand entrance as husband and wife.
All of these couples were very upset to the extent that one couple was thinking of splitting up because they thought they were cursed. None of them could get past their wedding day fiascos.
Dr. Phil gave them all sound advice. First, the marriage is what counts, not the ceremony. No matter what happens, as long as you end up married, that is all that matters. Second, remember, you are surrounded by family and friends that love you. There is no need to feel embarrassed if everything does not go perfectly. And last, you cannot control external factors such as the rain, but you can control how you react internally. Put it in perspective and lighten up and laugh about it. Some day, it will make a great story to tell the grandkids.
As experts in the wedding business for over 55 years, we have seen everything, and we mean everything. We agree with Dr. Phil's advice. Here are a few tips from us:
Don Reynold’s Wedding Day Tips
Understand and prepare yourself that no wedding day is perfect. Something will go wrong, whether minor or major, and you will deal with it and not let it ruin your wedding day.
Keep your humor! If something goes wrong, find the humor in it and laugh!
Remember, things going wrong are what make it memorable. Your guests, family and yourself will never forget your wedding, and it will become a fond memory for all of you.
You are not being judged, just adored, as it is your family and friends that surround you and they love you and are happy to share this special moment with you.
Relax and enjoy your wedding day! Don’t get so worked up that you can't enjoy with your spouse the wedding that took you months to plan and execute.
All of these tips are great and if you'd like to read more, check out www.drphil.com.
Good luck and remember, keep your humor and have a wonderful wedding!
Wedding Bells Ring on Prime Time
Some of the most exciting and most watched episodes on television center around weddings. From the famous soap opera wedding of Luke and Laura on ABC's General Hospital in the early 80s to the more recent reality-based wedding of Bachelorette Trista Rehn and Ryan Sutter on ABC, viewers have been mesmerized.
The most famous wedding of all time worldwide was the wedding of Princess Diana and Prince Charles that was broadcast here in the United States on ABC, NBC and CBS in the 80s. Everyone in the world stopped to watch and see history in the making.
The ratings on television soared during these weddings. Luke and Laura's wedding had 30 million viewers glued to ABC, November 16, 1981, which is not bad for fictional characters. Trista and Ryan’s wedding raked in 17.1 million fans for ABC on December 6, 2003. With almost one billion people worldwide tuned in on July 29, 1981, Princess Diana and Prince Charles proved that everyone loves a royal wedding.
For those of us in the wedding business, we have heard, seen and experienced a lifetime of wedding memories and moments that would fill pages of books and hours of film. We truly can understand why viewers love to watch these shows. Weddings can evoke all emotions - sadness, joy, jealousy and anger - all in just one wedding, too.
Viewers have enjoyed watching the wedding planning shows, such as "Bridezilla" and "Whose Wedding Is It Anyway" to see all the drama that surrounds the planning process. It’s like a train wreck. You simply can’t look away.
For those who want to experience fairytale weddings, they tune into shows such as "Platinum Weddings" and "Married Away" so they can dream.
This season, as in past seasons on prime time television, new shows have emerged that have a wedding theme. The first show this season is "Rules of Engagement" on CBS that focuses on an engaged couple, Adam (Oliver Hudson) and Jennifer (Bianca Kajlich), their friends, a long-time married pair, Jeff (Patrick Warburton) and Audrey (Megyn Price) and a bachelor on the prowl, Russell (David Spade). "Rules of Engagement" is a comedy that explores the different phases of male and female relationships. It can be seen Monday evenings 9:30/8:30C on CBS.
You can hear wedding bells ringing on FOX's new show by famed producer David E. Kelley, who has created such greats as "Ally McBeal," "The Practice," and "Boston Legal".
"Wedding Bells" is a romantic dramedy about the Bell sisters, Annie (KaDee Strickland), Jane (Teri Polo) and Sammy (Sarah Jones) who inherit the "Wedding Palace", a wedding venue and wedding planning business from their parents' divorce. It shows how the sisters balance planning complicated and elaborate weddings, while trying to figure out their own love lives. To catch the bells sounding, tune into FOX Friday nights at 9/8C.
And if you can't get enough wedding shows, check out "Til Death," which is also on FOX, Wednesdays 9:30/8:30C. "Til Death" is a comedy about longtime married couple, Eddie (Brad Garrett) and Joy (Joely Fisher) and their next door neighbors, young newlyweds, Steph (Kat Foster) and Jeff (Eddie Kaye Thomas). Eddie and Joy are closing in on day 9,000 of their marriage while Steph and Jeff have been married only days. This show is about new marriage versus old marriage.
Just when you thought that every wedding show was covered, NBC is going to launch "The Real Wedding Crashers," which is a wedding twist on the MTV's hit "Punk'd". On this show, brides and grooms will help fool their families as their weddings turn into complete disasters. Nothing is safe! Stay tuned to NBC to learn the launch date, which should be late April.
Whether you are planning a wedding and need a break from the stress, or just need a good laugh, you're sure to hear wedding bells ringing on prime time this season. Tune in and get a good dose of humor, which is one of the most important ingredients to add to a successful wedding!
