Earth Friendly Foam Insulation is a family owned business in Decatur Texas, owned and operated by Eric and Laureen Langto. Our goal is to provide high quality, earth friendly, spray foam insulation for residential and commercial customers. Selecting the right insulation is often an under-estimated part of the building or remodeling process...you can pay the price for years to come, with high utility bills, drafts, uncomfortably hot or cold rooms and the quality of the air you breathe.

If you select spray foam insulation you can answer yes to all of the above. Additionally our spray foam supplier is Burtin Polymer Labs (BPL) their proprietary formulas contain no HCFCs, VOCs or Formaldehyde making it free of toxic air contaminates. Spray foam will not settle, decay, or off gas over time.
Spray Polyurethane Foam (SPF) is produced by a chemical reaction when two liquid components are combined, an isocyanate, known as the "A" component, and a polyol resin, known as the "B" component. When the two liquids are mixed together (typically at a one-to-one ratio), a chemical reaction occurs creating rigid, or semi-rigid foam. The mixed liquid starts to react in seconds, expanding 20 to 30 times its liquid state (100 to 150 times for open cell foam). Once cured it solidifies and becomes polyurethane foam.
Studies have shown that as much as 40% of a buildings energy loss is due to heat loss, or gain, through walls, roofs and windows. SPF is an incredible material for roofing systems and thermal insulation with its excellent water resistance and ability to air-seal your home or building with R-values ranging from 6.0 to 7.0 per inch. This efficiency contributes to significant energy savings throughout the life of a building and benefits the owner allowing the use of smaller capacity cooling and heating equipment.
Spray Polyurethane Foam (SPF) insulation is spray applied, adheres and expands to the surface, creating an air tight, moisture resistant barrier without settling unlike other means of insulation. SPF has the greatest R-value, is solvent free and contains no added formaldehyde. Spray Foam not only contains varying degrees of renewable resources in its formulation, but the energy saving characteristics alone, significantly reduce fossil fuel consumption and electricity requirements for heating and cooling your home or building. These superior performance capabilities are quickly being recognized by the masses, making spray foam the most popular, clean, sustainable green insulation product today.
We offer both open and closed cell spray foam. Open cell foams are softer, more flexible, and more diffusible than closed cell foams. Open cell foams are excellent air barriers and are highly recommended for sound attenuation. Open cell foams are less expensive than closed cell foams due to their light densities. Closed cell foams are superior insulators and vapor barriers. Due to the light weight to strength ratio of closed cell foams, structural integrity of the building is increased. Closed cell foams exhibit higher insulation properties and greater compression strength than open cell foams.
