Business History

Founder and CEO, Dr. Chris Steven Villanueva, DMD started out like every other dentist—in the “trenches” of the dental community.

Frustrated by the problems present in both the Sole Practice and Group Practice models of dentistry, Dr. Villanueva founded MB2 Dental Solutions. He wanted dentists to be able to “…get back to being dentists,” and still reap the benefits and profitability of their clinical talents and drive.

MB2 Dental Solutions was founded on the vision of combining the positive characteristics of sole practitioners and group practices while mitigating the negative characteristics of each. From inception in 2009, MB2 has gone from vision to reality with 75+ employees and over 60 affiliated dental offices.

Biography

Dr. Villanueva’s work history includes years as an associate dentist, associate dentist trainer and mentor, an advocate for the doctor-focused practice model, Dental Director, Practice Owner and now CEO of the One of the few and largest doctor-owned Dental Support Organizations in the country. Dr. Villanueva’s unique understanding of both the provider and business side of the business has allowed to him to ensure that all business guidance maintains doctor clinical autonomy. Dr. Villanueva is passionate about maintaining the integrity of the dental profession. Dr. Villanueva still practices chair side and enjoys educating and mentoring new dentists about their options after dental school.

Dr. Villanueva was born in Ohio but spent much of his life before school abroad in Asia and South America, graduating high school in Caracas, Venezuela. Dr. Villanueva’s wife Carol is a physician herself and owns her own established practice in North Texas. Dr. V and his wife have four beautiful children.
