The co-owners of Retro DJ to Go began as event DJ's in college working for a small mobile disc jockey company. After years of performing at private parties, weddings, corporate events, galas, fundraisers, sorority/fraternity parties, fashion shows and many other events, they moved on to working for a pro audio company that specialized in providing sound reinforcement for concerts and large events in the area. Eventually both became club headliners and competed against each other at various clubs in the area and even on radio.
In 2006, one of the co-owners was getting married and used the in house wedding facility DJ. What a mistake! The DJ did nothing but play music. He could not even talk on the mic. There was no coordination of events and nothing was setup for the photographer (a key to the success of any wedding). We couldn't take it anymore and took over the event and turned it into a huge success! In 2007, Retro DJ to Go was formed as it was clear that Houston had a need for quality event DJ's.
