Arctic Express Insulation is a Certified BIBS (Blown In Blanket System) Contractor. BIBS is a patented process that blows OPTIMA into cavities behind netting. Optima is one of several approved blown in fiberglass products that is certified for use. Knauf's Perimeter Plus, Certainteed SP and Johns Mansville Climate Pro are others. Arctic Express Insulation has gone Green; We now install ULTRA TOUCH a Cotton Product made from BLUE JEAN type material. As well as Green Fiber Cellulose insulation

Hiringthe right insulation contractor can make all the difference as to how well you save on your heating and cooling bills. The insulation must be installed properly not just installed. If a Batt of insulation is compressed you can lose significant R-Value. If the attic is blown to the proper depth but doesn't have enough bags of material installed to meet the manufactures specifications (It's all fluff) then your not getting the proper R-Value installed. We can and do install Cellulose insulation. But we prefer to install Fiberglass blow material theres nothing in it to burn, settling is minimal and it doesn't break down over the years. It will show when you get your utility bill. In an existing home adding 8" of fiberglass attic blow insulation to you attic area can make a significant difference to your electric bill as well as to your comfort. If you have an older home with no insulation in the walls we can do what we call Drill and Fill.
Spray Foam has a great sealing factor but don't be misled Sealing Factor does not mean R-Factor (Resistance Factor). Combined they improve the overall efficiency. Beware there are some that say 1 inch of foam is like R-40, they say because of the sealing factor. Please understand Sealing Factor and R-Factory is not the same thing nor do they combined increase R-Factor. One inch of foam depending on the product and manufacture is between R-3.7 to R-7.4 also depending if it is open or closed cell foam. Some maybe rated higher but as a rule most are in this range.
