Founded in 2003 by Dr. David D. Kim, whose goal was to give the morbidly obese a chance to "live life again," our practice quickly rose to prominence as a premier weight loss treatment center. We are the only bariatric surgery practice in Fort Worth, Texas, to have earned recognition as a Center of Excellence, and Dr. Kim is the only bariatric surgeon in Fort Worth to be awarded the title of Surgeon of Excellence. Both of these honors are given by the American Society of Bariatric Surgery, the leading organization of bariatric professionals in the country.

Before my surgery I weighed 270 pounds, It took everything I had to get up each morning and make it through the day. I had type 2 diabetes, sleep apnea (using oxygen and CPAP), high blood pressure, and many other issues caused by being extremely overweight.

Once I made up my mind Pam was extremely helpful making sure I had all my exams and paperwork completed. She also communicated with the insurance company and kept me posted on how that was going and then came the letter in the mail - YOU HAVE BEEN APPROVED! - followed by a call from Pam setting up my surgery date.
I had the surgery in September of 2005 and my life has forever changed for the better. After the first three months I was completely off of all my medications and CPAP. By the end of the first year I had lost 100+ pounds and I continued to lose 140 pounds in all. Now for the past year-and-a-half, I have been working on maintaining my weight by exercising and eating healthy.
This surgery has given me the tools to change my lifestyle and my life.
