Phil & Melody Box will speak on building healthy marriages and relationships during this one day conference. The topics are:
God is into transformation! He wants everyone to experience and be changed by His love and beauty. This happens as people build their lives upon Jesus and thus invite His Kingdom into every area of life. Willow’s goal is to see transformation happen in the community, congregation and family.
Acts 19 is the basis for community transformation. It is a picture of what occurs when the Kingdom of God moves into a region and touches every sector of society. Acts 2.42-47 is the ideal for congregational transformation. It describes the life of a church built upon Christ. Matthew 5 – 7 defines the lifestyle of those who are experiencing personal transformation. We are contending for these three realities.
Alongside this, Willow is a Kingdom minded, Spirit-filled, Word based congregation. Being Kingdom minded means that we value every part of the body of Christ from Roman Catholics to Non-denominationalist. Everyone is needed to establish God’s Kingdom in a region. Being Spirit filled means we both recognize the need for the daily empowering of the Holy Spirit and encourage the practice of all spiritual gifts. Being Word based means that the Scriptures are our guide and standard for beliefs and practices.
On a personal note, Willow strives to be a place where the hurting and broken can receive healing and restoration. The congregation is accepting of those who struggle with sin issues. The membership of Willow realizes that people aren’t perfect and there is always hope, even for those who are furthest from God. Our desire is to, “preach good news to the poor . . . proclaim freedom for the prisoners, and recovery of sight for the blind, to release the oppressed, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.” (Luke 4.18-19)
May God bless you as you seek to serve Him!
