Fellow Travelers on the Advent Journey,

This scripture fromIsaiah is the Moravian Daily Text "Watchword" for the first week of Advent. It is a fitting Word on which we are invited to focus our attention as we light the first candle of the Advent Wreath. As the days of Advent grow shorter, we are invited to walk in Gods light so that darkness would be dispelled by the light of Christ.

I appreciate the concept of a Watchword for the week. It is intended to draw a communitys attention to one particular verse of scripture, so that the whole community might discuss how Gods Word is active in our daily life. This devotional approach was introduced to me 13 years ago at Mt. Carmel Ministries in Alexandria, Minnesota. It is a devotional method I would like to share with all of you.
