What is Tempo School of Music?
Tempo is the top spot in Houston, TX for professional and affordable private music lessons.
Tempo was established in West Houston in 2000 by a small group of experienced and dedicated professional music instructors.
Before Tempo, most of us taught in music stores. In our experience, teaching music in music stores is less than ideal. Many stores are noisy, students feel pressured to buy instruments, and teachers feel pressured to sell them. We thought students would learn better in an environment solely dedicated to music education. That's why we created Tempo School of Music.
Tempo's Music Lessons
At Tempo we give private music classes on all the most popular musical instruments. We offer piano lessons, guitar lessons, bass guitar lessons, voice lessons, violin lessons, saxophone lessons, flute lessons, and clarinet lessons.
All music lessons are private lessons, not group lessons. Don't waste time and money on group classes. One-on-one instruction with an experienced teacher is the best way to learn how to play music.
We teach all ages, levels and musical styles.
There are no registration fees - you only pay for time with our teachers. We make our music lesson rates affordable so that everyone has a chance to learn. You won't find better music lessons in Houston for less.
Tempo's Music Teachers
We realize that being able to play an instrument and being able to teach an instrument are two separate skills. We pride ourselves on not only being good musicians, but being good teachers as well. The difference between a good teacher and a bad one can steal away a wonderful lifetime of music. We don't take that responsibility lightly.
Nearly all of our teachers have been here since we opened and were teaching long before that. You can trust our experience and know we'll be here for you.
All of our teachers are full-time musicians and music teachers.
Our instructors are all very patient and friendly. You learn at your own pace.

Each week we draw hundreds of music students from all over Houston and and its surrounding areas (Katy, Columbus, Sugar Land, Richmond, Rosenberg, Clear Lake, and The Woodlands). We hope you'll decide to study your instrument with us, too.
