A/C MAN COOLING AND HEATING
Scheduled maintenance plans and contract work are available. Service fees start at $49.95. Whether you require a simple repair, maintenance, a complete removal, or an upgrade of your heating and air-conditioning system, we can handle the job.
American Standard is the first and last name in Energy Efficient Air Conditioning.
Are you thinking of purchasing a new air conditioner? Have you become dissatisfied with the operation of your current system? Are you unsure about the cost of repair versus cost of replacement? High costs of utility bills have you heated up? If you answered yes to any of these questions, we can help.
American Standard air conditioners use up to 50% less energy to produce the same amount of cooling versus a system made 30 years ago. Even if your system is only 10 years old, you can still see substantial savings by increasing your SEER rating. SEER stands for "Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio and is a measurement of the energy efficiency of the air conditioning system. SEER ratings permit consumers to accurately compare operating costs of various cooling systems and products. A higher air conditioning SEER rating means higher efficiency, translating to lower energy costs to cool the building. Older air conditioning systems are likely to have a lower SEER (perhaps 10 or 12) than a newer, more efficient system (perhaps SEER=18). But, beyond comparing SEER ratings, consideration should be given to the building insulation, air leakage, layout, and adequacy of the air conditioning duct system, as all of these are likely to have a very large, usually determining effect, on the operating costs of air conditioning systems in buildings.
While installing a new Energy Efficient system is always best, older systems can still offer years of service when properly installed and maintained. Through years of experience we have discovered that many systems in operation suffer from one or more of the following issues:
Many times these issues cause systems to run longer while simultaneously failing to cool or heat properly. Premature failure of parts and/or equipment is common among improperly installed or improperly maintained systems. Recent studies have shown that 10% - 30% of conditioned air is lost through air leaks due to improperly sealed ducts.
All air conditioning systems require regular maintenance in order to operate correctly and maintain efficiency. Filters, evaporator coils, condenser coils, drain lines, drain pans, and safety switches are all items which require regular maintenance. A licensed service technician can perform a check up to let you know if you have any issues that require attention. We recommend having your system checked twice a year, once for cooling and once for heating.
